Pink Slip Express at KSHB-41 including Chief Meteorologist

Scripps leadership has thrown some new tires on the Pink-Slip Express and pulled into Kansas City.

Sources tell FTVLive that at least seven employees at Scripps-owned KSHB got the blade.

Our source says that Chief Meteorologist Mike Nicco is one of those cut, along with an Executive Producer, a Reporter, and others.

Nicco's bio remains on the station's website, but his KHSB-branded Twitter (X) page is now gone.

He was named the Chief Met about a year and a half ago, saying at the time, “It’s a privilege and an honor to return home and become the new Chief Meteorologist at KSHB 41,” Nicco said. “The reputation Gary and the team have built over the years is impressive and I’m excited to lead a group of such talented and knowledgeable weather professionals."

We also hear that Scripps sent some staff at KJRH (Tulsa) to the unemployment line as well.

There is no telling where Scripps will head next as it continues to lay off workers at many of its stations.
