This essentially means that it is acceptable to use these pages to seek sponsorship for The Fusiliers Aid Society (which includes Fallen Fusiliers), and The Fusilier Memorial fund only. We now have our own dedicated justgiving site (http://www.justgiving.com/fusiliersaidsociety), which you can use to help raise money for your cause. If you let RHQ (Asst Regt Sec) know the specific cause you are raising money for, it will be directed to the correct fund. adly I have to report to you a Further Death, Major (Retd )Major (QM) (Retd) 477173 Maldwyn "Frank" Burrows, who served in Lancashire Fusiliers, and 1st & 3rd RRF, died yesterday, peacefully in hospital following a surgical operation which was simply one assault too many for his 95yo body to withstand.
Frank will be remembered by many ex-LFs, having served with them in Bury, Cyprus, Egypt, Kenya, Germany, Worcester, Weeton and Guyana amongst other postings. He was to his eternal regret denied the joys of Hong Kong on medical grounds. Following the amalgamation of fusilier regiments into the RRF he also served with RRF battalions in Shorncliffe, Gibraltar, Kirton Lindsey, Londonderry and Oakington and assorted short tours in Belfast before becoming QM for the Berlin Brigade HQ and later the Episkopi Garrison prior to his retirement. He then served for ten years as an "RO" administering MoD facilities in Scotland before retiring to a warmer drier climate in North Norfolk. Sadly His wife, June, died in 2018. He now joins her.
