It’d been weeks and she still wasn’t letting him touch her. He could only take so much… to have her so close and yet be denied her touch again and again…

With the arrival of fall, too, he grew even pushier. He satisfied himself a few times with choosing violence and letting her strike him if she wanted as justification for striking her back (though he always made sure to hit a little harder than she had, a trick his father had taught him first hand throughout his childhood) but ultimately it wasn’t their scuffles and her tears that he longed for. Why couldn’t she feel the way he did? It would make everything so much simpler if she stopped hoping for any arrival of rescuers and accepted that her fate was to be here. To be his.

Was it so bad? He escorted her from the island to the nearest empty grazing area to keep her belly full, led her to the closest fresh water sources when she was thirsty, and guided her back again to this safe place he’d fostered. He kept everyone away from harming her… just not himself, though he only harmed her when he felt she deserved it. By not listening to him and abiding by what he wanted.

Needless to say, all of this he had done was far more than her so-called family had done for her, considering he’d been able to snatch her so easily.

Peyote had his eyes on her while he considered her unwillingness to be his captive and, as predicted, decided he wasn’t satisfied with only thinking of her. His hooves pushed aside the thin, tall stalks of seagrass as he started toward her. Not quickly, not aggressively, but pointedly. There was a determination set in his blue eyes as they focused, and even if she were to throw another fit, he had no intention of honoring her wishes. He would do what he could, though, to not act aggressively toward her this time. Perhaps this time he could touch her with kindness.

Unless, of course, she rejected his advances.
