Rules � The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders. � Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission. � All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say. � Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met. � You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page. � Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

"Big lizards. Sharp teeth; find horses appetizing." The brindled girl balked inwardly, but her ears flattened fully now into the black mass of her mane. She'd seen lizards before. The small ones that lurked near the orchard mainly. There were lizards large enough to eat horses? It seemed inconceivable to her, even when her honey brown irises focused on the water he'd gestured to. When Vervain finally found and realized the true size of the creature, her eyes widened in surprise. It had been right there, and she had never seen it. Who knew how many of these lie between her and the world outside?

�The swamp hides them until it�s too late for you.� Silently, the mare's head bobbed in the slightest of nods. She was able to picture such a thing in her mind's eye. How quickly would they drag her beneath the murky surface? Would her parents ever know what happened to her if one of those got a hold of her? He hadn't needed to answer her or point it out really. "I see," murmured the maiden. Vervain chewed on her lower lip, eyes fixed on the alligator, ears locked against her poll. The black stood unmoving, considering and weighing each threat as the seconds ticked by.

How on earth would she get out of this mess?
