Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

I want your heart on a platter

Oh, you want battle?
I'll give you war.

"Where ya headed, sunshine?" I had followed her for some time at a leisurely pace, not really worried that the copper-colored mare would abandon the Lagoon. For whatever reason, she seemed to be tied to Osmanthus' side and while I supposed I should probably be jealous about that, I just wasn't. Two - now three - for the price of one? That was a helluva deal, and far more than our Maurader or General had done.

I wasn't sure where she had stashed the baby, but again, I also didn't really care. It was "mine" only in that I claimed every ounce of responsibility for their presence here (and the prestige that should come with it), but I had no desire to spend time around it. Children were messy and noisy, and while I was generically curious about the process of making one, I had no desire to acquaint myself with raising one.

"I'm sure the big bloke can handle a few minutes without you holding his hand." I grinned, letting the smirk grow lopsided and wolfish. I was still figuring out new ways to entertain myself in the swamp, given that it had only rare moments of excitement among the long hours of boredom. "Why him anyway? Softies are a dime a dozen and I'm sure you could've found one that wasn't swamp-bound." The grin stretched, ever so slightly. "Not that I'm complaining."

I stepped forward, seeking to close more of the distance between us, though I didn't move to touch her. "Or maybe it wasn't him after all." He tilted his head, seeking to get a rise out of her. "Maybe it's the Lagoon itself you wanted." He wasn't dumb enough to assume she was here because of him, nor did I really think she wanted the Lagoon. She'd probably daydreamed about a happy life with her true love or some other nonsense, like I assumed most mares did.
