WHO WAS THE LOADMASTER? IP: 101.179.117.179 Posted on 27/6/2024 at 09:20:36 AM by Bob Stephens
On the 5th MAY 1971, after being categorized as WIA, I found myself on a Medevac Herc being returned to Australia, via an overnight stop at RAAF Butterworth, In Malaysia. The aircraft landing at RAAF Richmond the next day was so soft and gentle, that touching of the runway was not felt at all. Remarkable flying on the part of the Pilot, who was obviously taking into consideration the wounded on board. I would be interested to know who the Loadmaster would have been. After 53 years, it is possible that he is no longer amongst our ranks. Replies:
