Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

Ararat

Asenath was running at almost a full tilt when skirting the far slope. The loose pebbles were enough to make her tiny hooves skitter on the stony ground. Her leg muscles struggled to retain control and stay upright, but she succeeded. Panic had made her gaze go wild in the moment. When she managed to focus again after finding her footing, she came sliding to a stop before a giant black shape. The tawny girl gazed in fearful amazement up at the thing before realizing it was another horse.

The fear immediately dissipated. There had never been a need for her to fear another like herself before after all. She didn't know the dangers hidden in her own kind. Asenath snorted in her child-like timbre and approached where he was standing. The filly peeked her head curiously over the edge. The cupped shape of her ears strained forward while the curly hairs of her tail wiggled excitedly to and fro.

It was then the Ararat came around the curve. Though she moved slower than her daughter, she came to the same stop farther away, her eyes wide in shock. The mare's ears pricked forward and then flattened. She'd never met a stallion in the Peak before, and Asenath was much to close to him... and the edge.

"Asenath," she beckoned intently. "Come away from there, honey. You're too close to the edge." She tried so hard to keep her tone even; Ararat didn't want to frighten the girl alluding to the danger in the large stallion next to her. Something about him scared her, him and his proximity to her little girl.
