I am frozen to the bones, I am...

He drew a sharp breath as she turned to face him, silhouetted against the fading embers of the evening sky. Her kind, dark eyes, older but just as captivating as they had always been, held a flicker of recognition that set his heart racing. Dark tendrils of hair framed her curved brow and gently caressing the sharp line of her cheekbone, accentuating the beauty he had cherished for so many years. His heart stammered in his chest, a frantic drumbeat against his ribs. It was her.

After all these years, she now stood before him, just mere inches away, and the weight of time seemed to melt away in the face of this impossible reunion. She did not utter a word, but her eyes spoke volumes. Confusion mixed with a dawning recognition, mirroring the turmoil within him. Their gazes locked, a silent conversation passing between them, unspoken promises and yearnings. Suddenly, the earth beneath her crumbled and started to give way, threatening to swallow her whole, and she stumbled forward into him.

He caught her, her trembling form pressed against his muscled neck. He could feel the tremors running through her, a desperate plea for sanctuary, a wish to be whisked away from this place, from whatever had brought her to this precipice. "Yes, anywhere," he breathed into her dark tendrils of mane, his voice thick with emotion, his neck tightening around her frail body, vowing to protect her, to be her haven in this storm.

"Follow me," he whispered, his voice a gentle coaxing, his glacial blue eyes remaining glued to hers as he took the first step from the cliff's edge. A surge of emotions washed over him, tightening his throat like a constricting band. How could it be? He tilted his icy gaze towards the heavens now, darkening as the first few stars twinkled in the vast expanse. "Only the gods, could have orchestrated this meeting," he whispered into the narrow space between them, his heart swelling with gratitude at the thought. Each step they took away from the cliff's edge was a step towards their unknown destiny, a journey guided by the celestial bodies above. With each passing moment, the distance between them seemed to dissolve, replaced by a bond that transcended the physical realm.

He paused at the edge of the tangled thicket, his glacial blue eyes scanning the shadows. He found a small clearing, just big enough for them both. "Let, me go first," he offered, a soft smile playing on his lips as he met her gaze. His whiskered chin dipped in a reassuring nod. He stepped into the thicket, his movements careful as he pushed aside the sharp branches and tangled limbs. Turning back, he offered an inviting smile, urging her to follow.
