Fell
There is very little light left to illuminate the trail from the shore to the Falls. Shadows grow long across the grass, little shafts of sunlight slotting through the yellowing leaves and dappling the grassy ground. Fell trots steadily through the trees, his head low, nostrils flared and seeking. His ears cup forward, twitching side to side as things in the brush nearby shuffle and move about.
The trees eventually thin, revealing the opaque white surface of the pool beneath the Falls. The scarred black stallion slows, then follows the edge of the water around until he spots something in the grass.
He pauses, suspicious.
He can see the topline and bulk of another scarred black animal. He can smell from here that it’s a stallion, and the heavy Lagoon-tinged musk masks any identifying information about the smaller body lying next to it. It’s obviously a child, but Fell can’t see any further details.
Anyone else might have found the scene sweet. It’s not that Fell doesn’t, it’s just that ‘sweet’ isn’t found in his vocabulary commonly enough not to be buried by other, more bitter alternatives. Not to mention that it’s autumn, and Fell isn’t out here seeking ‘sweet’ interactions. He’s either looking for a fight, or a… well. It is autumn.
He doesn’t think the guardian is sleeping, but he isn’t sure right away if he’s spotted the half-eared Marwari. Fell doesn’t announce himself, though, beyond a soft blowing of air from his flared nostrils. He wants to see the child, to see if it’s just as tattered as the stallion. Of course, he has no idea what he’ll do with that information, regardless of the answer. He’s not exactly here to help, or he would have made himself known. He isn’t trying to avoid a fight, but if that’s what he wanted, he also would have made some sort of noise to wake the beast up or at least drag his attention from whatever peaceful daydream he’s wandering in. No, he’s mainly just curious, and confused as to what a Lagoon stallion of all creatures is doing in this position.
