Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

in the dark, there is discovery, there is possibility.
there is freedom in the dark once someone has illuminated it.

If Nephilim had thought he ached before it was nothing compared to what he felt when Vervain broke and collided against him, her soft sobs filling his ears. He remained steadfast for her but her sorrow nearly made him want to break. All those times he had coaxed laughter out of her lips during his Prairie visits came crashing across his mind (they’d haunted him the entire time she was gone) and he thought that those were the only sounds she should have reason to make. These sobs that rattled her body against his made his throat burn. Nephilim grimaced to hold his own emotions at bay as he concentrated on holding her tightly up against him.

How many times had he dreamed of this moment? It wasn’t exactly as he pictured, but to physically hold her was absolute bliss, just as he thought it would be.

Vervain slid away after some time of catching her breath, affectionately touching her lips to his cheek, and he offered her a grateful smile, heart somehow both warmed through and yet achingly heavy. He would never forgive himself for failing her, no matter the logistics or ways his sole blame could be argued. None of it mattered. Vervain had suffered for the entirety of a year and he had not done enough to save her when she needed him most.

He felt guilty, then, for having felt happy to have been holding her a few moments ago; to have that soft touch of her velvet lips on his cheek.

“I would love nothing more” she said, and his mind pulled away from the dark path it was beginning to turn toward. Nephilim smiled back at her. “Do you think we can go another hour or so before dark once she wakes?” He looked past her like she had. Southwest, the way she’d come from.

“Of course,” he said firmly. “I won’t be leaving your side,” he stated, though it was obvious he wasn’t likely to, Nephilim offered firm verbal communication. “Not even once we get back to the Prairie,” his voice was quiet, but still just as inarguable.
