Waking up next to Adonia meant the world to him. They were getting older, he could see the signs of age over the both of them, but he longed for a life left with his mate. It had taken so long to find her and even longer to convince her to settle into a herd. Such courage she had to muster just to come to the Inlet. He was happy to finally have a place to call home. A place to teach his young adult sons how to treat mares and how to defend them.
He smiles as he reaches towards Adonia to lip her soft cheek. He speaks as he pulls away from her. "I want you to know how much I love you and our sons." He wonders how she was feeling about the Inlet. The rest of the herd mainly left them alone save for the few times Nicodemus checked on them after an attack. It was the main risk of joining a herd, being able to be taken. Lorcan didn't know how he might react if someone tried to take his family from him. Especially so soon after the death of Solomon.
"It would be nice to meet our grandchildren one day," He chuckles. "Have you noticed Eguzki or Íñigo seeking out any companionship?" He hadn't so he wondered if she had. The only problem coming to the Inlet was that majority of the horses here were relatives. Not much opportunities for their sons to find mates on Tinuvel so they would have to seek it elsewhere. |
