He has heard the sounds of galloping, has been nearby enough to heard the not-call of his father’s anger as body-through-trees. It takes him no time at all to divert towards his mother, tell her that something is amiss, and then to charge to back up his father -- who, of course, was plenty enough for most interlopers.
He is galloping down a slight slope towards the trio of others when he spots his paused father as he took in the situation. A gallop turned into a canter in Maha’s progress, ready to skid to a halt and prevent political disaster, but then the slicking back of his father’s ears is enough to send him into full charge once more. His father may have given size to his frame but his mother had given him endurance enough to not be winded by the time that he arrived to aid his father’s cause.
He aims to place himself right to the opposite side of the intruder, giving him no chance to do much other than pick who he wished to fight in order to escape… Fell or Mahākanha. He wasn’t adept yet, but he had decent size and a father who would not leave him hanging. His main goal when he skids to his stop is to rise up a little onto his haunches, though not to full height, and chest buffet the enemy if he’d not shot forward by the time he’d pressed off with his hind legs.
