It had been years so he didn't expect to still feel this way. Not after spending years getting over her. Then he met Adonia who didn't stick around at first, but by their second son he had finally convinced her. He followed Adonia from the meadow to the falls to the Ruins endlessly and restlessly. He spent a lot time trying to convince her to pick a home island. She was against it until she finally agreed on Tinuvel last year. Both of their sons were young stallions by the time he was able to introduce them to a real home. A herd, a whole family group, like the one he had grown up in.
Roisin looks just as shocked as he was as she turns face him. A thin layer of sweat began to form on his back her smile flushes his pale cheeks. As a child he may not have interacted with Roi much, but he almost always knew what she was doing. Lorcan had often watched from the background as she played with the other foals and decorated flowers over the herd members. Roi had always been so bold and simply herself. Never afraid of her personality and always shinning as she took charge. At one point he had seen her as somewhat of a leader of the youth in the Ridge. To him she had always seemed strong and sure of herself. He had always wondered if it was these traits that aided in her move to the Peak. Alongside the drama plaguing her parents.
He stands frozen when she advances in a rush of emotions. The awkwardness in her touch was obvious, bringing back the sting of reality. How he wanted to embrace her after all this time, but he could not. It would not be healthy for the boundary she had already made clear years ago. "No," He shakes his head with a small smile. "I have not seen the Ridge for years." Maybe this was another sign that he needed to go. "I live in the Inlet with some of my siblings, my mother, and my own family." Nearly all of his siblings lived on Tinuvel. He knew his mother was happy to have her remaining children close. "Last I heard my grandfather was leading the Prairie so I have come to meet him." He never told his mother this, but why shouldn't he extend his knowledge of his family?
"But what about you? How are you Roi? You look...beautiful well." He would have liked to tell her what he really thought, but it was inappropriate. That, and he could feel the glare of Adonia behind him even though she wasn't truly there. He loved Adonia dearly (and she had picked him back), but she was so plagued by hate. Sometimes it became too heavy and he needed a break. He could only conyinue to pray that their sons did not share her hate. He hoped that having both parents in their life would bring them joy and the want for family.
