Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

It was an odd feeling: leaving the Prairie for the first time in over a year. I hadn't left its borders since Thames and I had crossed the channel to Luthien with Zevulun all that time ago. The landscape had both crawled and flown by us as we traveled, my blanketed golden love and I. He had humored me in some moments as our hooves steadily brought us toward the Lagoon and shown me the different places he could without much dawdling as we came south. There wasn't time now to see the lands Cas had seen in his various journeys to the Crossing, but I made the promise in my mind that we would see it all again.

It was well past sunset by the time we made it across the Lagoon's borders. My eyes drifted up toward the moon, and part of me was in some disbelief that it was the same one I'd seen miles to the northeast. It was so different here. I found myself staring out the fronds of foliage as we passed by. “We’ll find Garmr tomorrow,” Castillon stated. My lips outward slightly in a frown at his tone. I still felt guilty that he essentially left everyone just for me just so that I wouldn't be alone among these men.

“For now, we’ll find somewhere to bed down alone for the night... How about here?" I remained quiet, though I did as Castillon bade when he ushered me within the curtain of a weeping willow. I didn't want to think about what tomorrow held when I would be forced to stand before Garmr. He's going to smile so smugly when he sees us; the thought of his and the other bachelors' eyes on me makes me shiver in the dark as I come to a stop beneath the boughs.

My head was slung low, level with my withers, as my thoughts darkened. I turn my head toward Cas as he enters. The moonlight cast him in an ethereal sort of glow there as he came in through the willow's curtain of leaves. My eyes were only for him in that moment, and the love in my heart thrummed as he came closer to me. I still can't believe he came with me, and not just for the night; I couldn't thank him enough for not leaving me here alone. My lips would press to his cheek when the buckskin finally came close enough to me; I ached to be closer to him.
