Marceline had been drawn down from the Peak by the promise of reprieve in the Meadow. Her thoughts lately had been so consumed with the election, with what she would do if she won, but it was becoming overwhelming. Not in any way the former queen couldn't handle - she'd had her fair share of stress over the years, after all - but to such a degree that she felt she needed to simply get away for a few hours, if only to refocus herself on what mattered and clear the clutter in her mind.

Though her future in the peak was still uncertain at this moment, she had no doubts about her own path towards the greatness she'd sought since before she'd even stepped hoof on the islands. Even if her sisters did not deign to elect her as their prime minister, she would find other ways to get what she wanted, unrelenting in her quest to fulfill each and every desire her mind could conjure.

As the spotted mare made her way through the Meadow in the early morning hours, pale mist laying like a gauzy blanket over the clearing, she pondered what options were open to her. Knowing what her next move was, regardless of the election's outcome, was critical. Yet her thoughts were interrupted by the low rumble of a masculine voice calling out from close by - too close by.

Marceline swung her head and locked eyes with a dark-coated stallion who stood but a couple of body lengths away. How she had not noticed him before she did not know, but it was clear his attention was upon her now and she would not be able to easily slip away from him even if she wanted to.

"A passerby, lost in thought." She answered vaguely, lifting her head and straightening her spine in the face of his scrutiny. "Who might you be?"
