i dream in phosphorescence

The Arabian lifts his head and faces into the desert wind as he waits. The fullness of the sun ray's harsh rays beat down on the chestnut mercilessly, warming the deep places in the hollows of his bones. The wind brought tales of jackals in the west and of the promise of rain within a day. Every sensation was considered and processed with the utmost care. Helios loved this vast piece of Salem he had been blessed with. He had not been born here, but the vitality of the Dunes coursed in his blood all the same.

The sound of hoofbeats coming toward him across the sands roused the sun-kissed stallion. Before him, the desert materializes the lady as if it from a mirage. Niyat is simply otherworldly, glowing in the arid shine of day. A smile comes to his ashen lips before Helios can nod his polite greeting. "You called to me, Husband?" It elated the male to have her still refer to him this way, even if he didn't fully understand the ways of the Sadim.

"I did," he said warmly "I fear I've neglected you, Niyat. I'd like to remedy that and act more as 'husband and wife.'" The stallion stumbled over the unfamiliar feel of the titles, watching the sabino mare with a careful but hopeful gaze.
"Is that something that would please you?"

Helios
