Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

ince the election, the Peak had been quieter than Marceline would have liked. Ashteroth had brought home a new recruit, but little had changed beyond that. The freshly elected prime minister had hoped that her decree would spur the mares into action, yet she was met only with disapproval. A shame, she thought, given that her only desire was to see the Peak flourish as the rest of the island herds had done. She would not allow herself to believe her faith in her sisters was misguided - they just needed a little... encouragement.

Marceline was idling on the mountainside, turning these thoughts over again and again in her mind, when the familiar sound of hooves scraping against rock caught her attention. When she turned she was surprised to see the Peak's newest addition approaching, hesitancy lacing her tone as she introduced herself. Marceline had only known of her, though the opportunity for formal introductions had not yet presented itself until now. The spotted mare turned to face Honeycutt fully, dipping her crown in silent acknowledgement as the mare launched into her speech. The satisfied stretch of Marceline's lips grew as her newest sister spoke, amber eyes glittering with delight.

"It is nice to finally meet you, Honeycutt," Marceline replied once her stuttering (yet endearing) speech had concluded, "I'm very pleased to hear of your interest - I would be glad to discuss this with you." Marceline offered Honeycutt an open, encouraging smile, hoping it may put the anxious mare at ease. "I will admit, I was a bit worried no one would step forward. I am happy my fears were unfounded." At this the Prime Minster's eyes wandered down the mountain towards where some of the other mares lingered. Perhaps seeing Honeycutt take initiative in this would encourage the others to step forward and shake them from their state of stagnation.

Turning her gaze back to the stocky mare, Marceline shifted her weight and cocked her ever-aching back hoof, fixing Honeycutt with a curious look. "Tell me about yourself, Honeycutt... where did you live before ending up in that awful Lagoon?"
