i dream in phosphorescence

A nicker rumbles from an approaching figure, drawing the stallion's attention from the swathe of twilight-bathed desert before him. The Arabian turned his dished face toward the dark male, Al Hilal. A polite though distant smile forms briefly on the copper ruler's lips, flitting away into the deepening dark of night as Helios returned his gaze to the land stretching out before them.

Though there wasn't a truly intimate connection between the two stallions, Helios trusted the other as Antares had before him. As with many things, the chestnut had been reevaluating this relationship as well. Peace was the ultimate goal and Helios' utmost desire for the Dunes. Many more things needed doing, and, while he wasn't sure exactly what that agenda entailed, the Arabian deeply wished for someone solid at his side who would actively help him toward this goal.

Word of Al Hilal and his band had been quiet as of late, which was a little worrisome. To build without, there must be peace and strength within. Endeavoring to bridge this gap, Helios let another smile touch his face in response to Hilal's name for him: Red Sun. "Al Hilal," came the greeting, "it is good to see you." Helios shifted his weight then. Nerves fluttered in his barrel as the stallion posed a question:

"Things are going well, I trust?"

Helios
