From the eyes of a sinner.

Summer was here and with it came the vast heat on Atlantis. The warmth pulled at a two and a half year old that had more hair than he knew what to do with. One brown eye blinked with a blue eye following suit against the blazing summer sun high in the sky. Muscles quivered as long and thick legs pushed through the jungle and against briars. Long strands of tail tangled in various parts of his home and foliage, but his gaze was locked on the ocean his own sure hadn't entered in a few seasons.

Reaching the beach and stepping foot into the ocean, Nahawi's second oldest child moved towards a distant island. Being born not far behind Amarinora left Nataanii in her shadow, or so he felt. He had lost his mother whereas his sister was abandoned. It left both with scars, but whereas Amarinora had been loved by Nahawi, Nataanii never felt as if he was treated the same. That was why now the young draft cross left his home in search of a place without his two little sisters.

Days turned to weeks and soon enough the draft cross found himself in Salem. His dinner plate sized hooves moved over the sands with muscle strain and labored breathing. Atlantis had never taught him how to handle desert sands and it showed as sweat dripped down his flanks and temples, coating him in the salty liquid. He was forced to squint his eyes against the blazing sun, but he pressed on through the Dunes.

Far enough into the territory to not escape the coming storm, Nataanii was left with no way to hide. His big body was forced down into the sands with his head tucked against his body and ears tight against his neck. His skin trembled and every so often pained grunts left his body until near the end of the storm he was coated in a layer of sand. Blood slowly escaped wounds upon him from the fast flying sand, but Nataanii had managed to keep his head mostly covered with his back facing the worst of the blowing particles and ease himself of worse injuries.

As the storm began to end and the day came free of horrendous pain, Nataanii shook his head and neck before opening his eyes. Rising from his spot in the sands, the bay dun looked about himself before his eyes latched onto another figure in the distance. Licking his dry lips and calling out in a raspy voice, Nataanii waited.
