707 CRASH and OLD MOVIE with RAAF AIRCRAFT .... IP: 58.104.163.87 Posted on 27/10/2024 at 07:32:50 PM by Hoppy
Hey guys, I couldn't make it to the Re-Union sadly, I trust everybody who could had a great time catching up.
Part of my cancer treatment is loading me up with steroids on chemo day, apparently it makes the chemo drugs work better. The downside is that it keeps me awake for two days so I end up bingeing on old TV shows. I watched a show from 1987 I hadn't seen before called "Sword of Honour" based around Australia's Viet Nam commitment. It was a six-part series but one episode in particular contained a degree of RAAF transport aircraft in Richmond, especially good footage of Hercs, Caribou and 707. One unrealistic part was some soldiers conducting a normal conversation in the back of a Herc, sure different to my recall
Speaking of Richmond and 707 this coming Tuesday 29th marks 33 years since we lost 5 of our mates in the 707 off Woodside Beach. Take a moment on Tuesday to remember them. One of the most tragic events from my RAAF time. Replies:
