Rules � The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders. � Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission. � All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say. � Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met. � You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page. � Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

Daffodil was still here in the Lagoon.

For a while it appeared she was going to waste away into nothingness, but then came last year, something changed. Her figure began to fill back out as she began to eat and care for herself again. Her sides swelled, and she discovered she was carrying a child.

Becoming pregnant brought with it a new internal dilemma. Her heart was scorned by the disappearance of Romaro and soured against any companionship, let alone love, after her picture-perfect idea of it came crashing to the ground. Some days she felt guilty toward Romaro�s memory, that she might carry another stallion�s child; most of the time that made her feel angry, as he was the one to have left her in the first place. Some days she worried about the world she was going to bring a child into�

When the Peak had come to challenge the Lagoon for her, Daffodil had expected to feel relieved that there were others out there trying to interject and take her away�

But she didn�t. Daffodil had actually felt worried and anxious. She had wanted to be within eye-sight of Alioth at any time he might allow it, though she would have denied it verbally if asked. Another wave of confusing guilt had chased that, even more when the Peak lost and she felt relieved that she wouldn�t be leaving.

Then she gave birth to her son. The birth had been difficult and had taken time for her to recover from. Yet� despite whatever turmoil had brought him to this world, Daffodil could not help but love her son the moment she met him. It was getting harder and harder to keep herself from smiling or laughing again whereas before, she would do all she could to consciously shut herself away from any positive feelings.

�You should ask your father if he wants to go to the Falls today,� Daffodil suggested in a hushed whisper to her son, smiling when he met her eyes and gesturing slightly toward whichever direction Alioth stood. She hadn�t yet taken Iridium out of the Lagoon, but the boy had already lived through his first spring and nearly his first summer; he deserved to be able to see a little of the world beyond what he already knew.
