Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

I want your heart on a platter

Oh, you want battle?
I'll give you war.

There was nothing quite like the taste of sweet, sweet victory. Especially when it came courtesy of a rightfully cowed Peak, especially, especially when it became apparent that the mare I had not only covered but also taken from beneath their very noses was none other than Khar'pern, a previous Prime Minister. I had no idea she had also thrown her name in for this years election, but it would certainly have been the cherry on top.

Talk about a come-up story.

I assumed she'd be angry but I had no sympathy for her. I had been content to let her do her own little thing in the Peak with our child, but then she had to go and stick her nose where it didn't belong. Vogue was mine just like Hiyori was mine, and I wasn't about to let her get snapped up by the Peak so they could fill her pretty head with some nonsense about being rescued and saved. There was no being saved in this world. It was only a matter of time before your monsters came back for you, and I was not the least bit ashamed to be a monster myself.

"Come now," I crooned as I sidled closer, my dark eyes sparkling with delight and malice. "You know exactly why you're here, Khar'pern." I hadn't known her name before. It hadn't mattered really. She was willing and I was able, and the fact that she reeked of the Peak hadn't bothered me in the slightest. In fact, I'd rather enjoyed the thought of a Peak mare carrying my child behind enemy lines, a literal wolf in sheep's clothing.

She played at being a firecracker as we came to a halt, but I didn't take the bait of her lashing tail or hooves or teeth. Regardless of our history, she was likely a formidable foe and I'd just gone three rounds of fighting back to back. I was tired: triumphant, but tired. "You might be getting old and senile, but you know how we work. You stuck your foot over the line and now you have to pay the price." Or something like that. My focus was usually more on raiding other herds than it was on the battles between our people, but she had forced my hand and I wasn't about to let that insult go unanswered.

"Plus, you liked me well enough last season," I taunted with a wink, "can you blame me for wanting another round?" Despite the taunt inherent in my tone, I was not lying. As if some beast inside of me had been unlocked by siring my first child, I was already looking forward to next season and I certainly wouldn't turn down another chance to couple with the grey mare.
