GUIDELINES
common sense, really
i. the Prairie stands as a symbol of peace and prosperity among the islands
ii. anyone is welcome to live here so long as they do not bring harm to the Prairie or any of it's residents
iii. adventure and exploration is not only allowed, but encouraged! residents are asked to use their better judgement and not travel to places that could bring them harm
iv. the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
v. the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors
wish that I could make you mine.

I always want to know about your travels, Vern, he said, and Vernonia felt the smile absolutely melt across her lips. You know that. She made a small noise of agreement, still grinning a bit as she did. As much fun as exploring was, Vernonia had always liked coming back to the familiarity of home and getting to share all she had seen and learned during her time away. Lir was always one of the ones she could have those moments with. Had she ever made sure to tell him that? She couldn’t remember if she had.

“Hmm,” she murmured softly after he’d spoken. He pulled closer to her. She moved closer to him; could feel his warmth more solidly along the length of her. It felt… good.

“Don’t think of it as me carrying your burdens,” she suggested, gaze snapping up to meet him if he would meet hers. “Think of it as me helping you lift it all up for a little bit.” Vernonia offered a small smile, then gently bumped her shoulder into his.

“Come on,” she encouraged, meeting his eyes again. The next words she said a little more softly. “Talk to me.”

When she’d bumped her shoulder into his, she’d rested her weight into it, not even realizing she had. She was leaning softly into him. It felt so good… it felt so natural to cuddle up to him. Her hip swung gently so she could put the length of her against the length of him. They fit together perfectly.

I hope I'm in your dreams
the way you are in all of mine
