Greenish blue eyes watch as the stallion emerges from his hiding place. She had not known he was there, and going by how he was acting, he did not know she was here either. Tucked behind her was two fillies. One nearing two years of age, and the other only a half year old. Neither one made a sound, mimicking their mother’s frozen stance. The youngest filly, Himari, peeked below her mother’s belly to see the stranger while the older sibling, Izumi, rested her chin on her mother’s back.


Hiyori wasn’t sure what she should do. If they stood there long enough, the lagoon stallion was sure to see all three of them. She wanted to keep her daughters hidden for as long as she possible could from the evils of the world. Perhaps even help Izumi escape to the Peak to live with Kaeja, than continue living in this swamp. But that was a thought for another time. Instead, she tried to clear her panicking mind to come up with some sort of idea.


Slowly, Hiyori stepped away from her two daughters that stayed tucked away in the swampy shrubbery and stepped out into the small opening where the stallion grazed. Her hooves making the same sloshing noise, only a bit slower than his own. “Hello” she prompted with a greeting so that his eyes might only find her. Though he would truly have to search the thick vegetation behind her to find the two fillies. “Are you new to the Lagoon? I haven’t seen you before.”
