Broken sorrows of the soul is where I'm at (HELIOS) Posted on November 11, 2024 at 04:12:14 AM by Goose
How long had it been since he had been back? For once, he couldn't remember? Did he want to? Didn't it come with too many painful memories? Was it so bad that he couldn't even call that island his home anymore? Too much pain. Too much heartache. No, he didn't want that kind of heartache anymore. It still clung to the back of his mind like a black cloud. Dark. A reminder that only pain remained there for him now. Gone was the happiness that home had once brought him. No, it was better this way he thought. Time to move on. Time to head somewhere else. What had led the pale stallion here though?
Honestly he doesn't know. Maybe he'd been following her. His friend. Gloriosiah had come here. Yes, that had to be it. For as long as he could remember now, Goose had followed Gloriosiah around like a little lost puppy. Maybe it was the only bit of happiness aside from his sister that was here anymore. Maybe it was something different too though. A new home. A new start. Yeah, that made more sense than anything else. If anything made sense anymore really.
The wheat-kissed and white boy found himself pausing finally. It wasn't that he had been led to stop by anything in particular. It was perhaps the heat he'd realized foremost honestly. His nostrils flared and his eyes caught nothing exactly as they swept over the landscape. Vast with sandy golden hills. That is exactly what they were. Golden and hills of tiny little granules. He caught the painted mare in the distance. Gloriosiah had beat him here but that was of no real surprise to be frank. She was always upbeat and energetic. Of course she'd beat him here.
Finally he calls out. Not for Glory but for Helios. The horse whose scent was the most prominent here. Must be the leader of course. He dare not wander so far into the Dunes without meeting this Helios and making sure he'd be welcome. It was of course the intelligent thing to do. Goose hadn't ever been one to go looking for trouble where it needn't be after all. Replies:
