Terror; it did not haunt the mare as it once had, but it still lingered on the edges of her mind. Flaring up from time to time. The scent of the newest addition to the Lagoon brought that fear washing over Hiyori with new life. It made her heart skip a beat when the bloody smell entered her nose, and she quickly glanced over to her resting daughters. Izumi stood with her eyes closed, body relaxed while her chin rested on the back of Himari who was curled up on the ground. There was no need to disturb them and frighten them too.


Quietly, the pale painted mother crept away from her sleeping daughters and towards the danger that lurked further in her supposed home. When she finally found the source of the smell, Hiyori couldn’t help but gasp. The wounded mare looked nearly dead with the way she lay, her eyes staring off into the distance without blinking. Looking past her, Hiyori spotted Garmr. The lagoon boss was mostly concealed in the shadows, but it was clear by the look in his green eyes that he had caused this.


When the beast finally disappeared, Hiyori slunk from her own hiding place to approach the newest trinket. “I’m so sorry for this.” She whispered to the young mare who had been hurt so badly. Lowering her muzzle closer, Hiyori attempted to clean the once cream mare’s wounds. In comparison, Khyber did not seem like the devil the Lagoon Boss is, which made her strangely thankful. But it made the mother all the more fearful for her daughters, and she would have to ask him soon if he planned to uphold their bargain and find Izumi a new home.
