Halla was determined not to do anything else that would embarrass her. After all he'd found her sleeping (oh god she hoped she wasn't snoring!), seen her stumble (she was sure he noticed, it wasn't exactly graceful), and now here she was staring at his feet. She flicked her gaze up toward him, her eyes weary behind her pale lashes. He was handsome, she noticed, and she forced herself to look away from the strong muscles in his neck and shoulder and found herself staring at his feet again. Pretty flowers, she told herself, attempting to distract herself.

"This territory is the Commons," he says. Her ears twitch and her brow raises slightly. She knows it is, but to hear him say it out loud she feels a little sheepish. He continues, "especially now during Fall," and Halla lifts her head to really look at him again. The sentiment brings a burning to her cheeks when she realizes what he's talking about. Maybe she was a fool after all. "O-oh," she manages, focusing on a piece of his forelock that hung next to his cheek. It was easier than looking directly at him.

"I hadn't considered..." she admits. While she knew what the Commons were for, she supposed she hadn't thought of every possibility. She bit her lip, her brow furrowing. "Safer?" she asked, her ears perking up. The promise of a safe place was exactly what she had come here for, after all. Halla wasn't stupid. She wasn't the prettiest and she wasn't the strongest. She'd passed far more interesting mares than her on her walk here. "I would like to be safe," she admits, gathering the courage to look at him directly for the first time, "thank you, Vadim."
