NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER SURRENDER.

Once again a body stood in the peaks and stared down at the land below. Her pale hooves shifted on the rocks that were fully snow covered with winter here. The mare had wanted to do more than just live here like a shadow, a ghost. She knew she could do far better for herself, but she was at an impasse. She could go back to Atlantis and live under Nahawi. Snapdragon did not hate him unlike her daughter. It was a battle with a losing dice in her hands and she had just passed it on over to Nahawi instead. She had failed her family then and she was doing so now, but at least she dealt with it as best she could. Sorrow did not line her eyes like her friend back on Atlantis and her heart did not break in her breast knowing she was a failure. She was doing far better than her friend, but in reality she held no idea just how he was doing. She figured he beat himself up relentlessly though for he was just that kind of stallion.


Pulling in a breath of air, Snapdragon let herself think for a while before she nodded her head then. It was time to ask to leave and she would have to ask Marceline to release Finley from this place as well. Blinking her blue eyes, the pale mare shifted her hooves and looked down the trail that had brought here to where she stood now. Snow fell in a thick white curtain that had her finally letting out a breath. She would miss the snow and its cold touch, but this place was no longer where she belonged. She had ran here to survive, but she never should of. Snapdragon was not meant to be a peak mare with her love trapped in the confines of a trinket. It was time to step foot away from this place with her daughter now gone and potential life growing in her womb. She would get her and Finley a better place, it would just take time.


Winding down the path with her hooves steady, Snapdragon headed down in search of Marceline. Her voice was steady as she hummed under her breath, a faint smile lining her lips as she felt hope blossom in her chest for the first time in a long time. She was going to make it and so was her Finley. She might not be the ruler of anything right now, but that could change, she knew it could.


With every step that she took though, Snapdragon felt her resolve strengthen until finally she was at a sturdy spot. Her blue eyes searched around them before she sent out a call to Marceline. It was time to speak with the peak leader and it was well overdue. With winter here and over a year passed, she deserved to give herself and Finley a better chance. Now, she just had to wait for Marceline and hope that the Prime Minister would relieve her of her duties and her mate of his chains.
