Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

When the scent of Jǫrmungandr had wafted into her nose upon entering the Lagoon over the summer, the black mare had thought it a joke, a simple trick of the mind. Then, several more times over the passing months, she realized that he was here within the same verdant boundaries as herself and her new mate and child.

He'd been within the same territory as their son Alioth for some time, though the mismarked boy had never mentioned it to her. Not that she blamed him in the slightest for it. She, too, had taken to outright ignoring the traces left by the spotted male -- unless he crossed her path, of course.

Jǫrmungandr's invisible presence then had become an irritation always tugging at the edges of her mind. The anger that had been born from his abandonment of them had never faded, only festered. Vvanderfell had thought she could move forward with Marko in ways the pintaloosa stallion had been reluctant to do, but she had always held back. Always, she waited for him to fail her as her first mate had.

When Chaol died, Vvanderfell had railed against the world at the injustice. She had taken her anger and grief out on Marko: blaming him, blaming the Lagoon for taking her painted son. For days, the black mare had refused to move away from her boy's thin, still body. For weeks, she ignored Marko and avoided him when he wasn't at her side. She had even left the Lagoon at one point, only to now hear whispers that her mate had lost his position upon her return.

Incensed, the black mare had stalked into the thick cover of palms searching for someone to exert her wrath upon: Marko or otherwise. When Jǫrmungandr's scent washed over her senses in the height of her anger and the full wash of heat autumn stirred to a fever pitch in her veins, Vvanderfell had not hesitated to go after the stallion directly. Who better to bear the brunt of her fury than the one she perceived to have started it all?

She had paused at the edge of the thick veil of tall shrubs, watching her spotted quarry walk into a mare. For a moment, the dark sabino had thought he'd caught her scent after all. That had been a heartbeat before the two equines made impact. Still as a stone, Vvanderfell waited while hidden in the shadows. Her teeth gritted together. Impatient for the mare she perceived to be a trinket to be off, the mare had little desire to make this particular scene a public event.

Jormungandr had sins to pay for, and she would not have some strumpet interrupt or deprive her of that moment.

Vvanderfell
