Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

i'm running with the wolves tonight

Serenity was passing by the shore on her return from scouting the edges of the Peak when the sound of a whistle reached her twitching ears. She halts, turning her head toward the sound and squinting against the light reflecting off the ocean. Despite her ire about being summoned as if she was a servant, especially by a man, Serenity approaches. (Though she remains leisurely, taking her time as she descends from a rocky outcropping down onto the beach.) She halts several lengths away, standing decidedly between the rest of the Peak and him.

"Stranger," she calls out, "what brings you here?" The recent death of Vane makes Serenity especially suspicious of any man that would stride upon their coast, especially now. She doesn't smell the Lagoon on him, but she does smell the sea. She considers most of the Lagoon stallions to be idiots, too dumb to bathe off their putrid scents; but she will not be careless in her assessments.

She does not want to be too quick to chase him off. He could be a father, brother, someone to one of the mares here. And while Serenity had abandoned the notion of her old family before coming to the Peak, it was not a requirement. Many of the mares still thought fondly of their lives before and it was not Serenity's place to tell them how to feel about anything. Her job was to fight. And if she had to, she would.

"Do you know where you are?" she asks, her tail snapping against the tightened and coiled muscles of her hindquarters. If it was an accident she could chase him right back into the sea and be done with it. The water was frigid in the winters if you were not used to it, and she could not blame someone for seeking whatever shore they found first. But that is where her empathy ended.
