stallion | 18hhs | black sabino | lost soul

The shipwreck… it all started with that damn shipwreck.

Standing on an island far out in the middle of nowhere, a stallion built thickly and wound tight with muscle narrowed dark blue eyes on the distance. He had horses here, a few that had survived the wreckage. He was not the only stallion and he had no need to stick around with the blubbering brutes, but he did so without a care for what came his way. His large black and white body shivered in the cold ocean wind, but he stayed where he was and watched the ocean rip and pull against the island banks he was standing on. He should go out there and search for a better place to live, but something was holding him back. Chains wound themselves tightly against his heart and it took many years, but they began to chip apart until one day the heavy chains just fell away and he found himself free.

Blinking blue eyes with a deep sense of calm, the stallion named Enigma turned his head back to the horses he had helped save so many years ago. This was the last time he would ever look at them and with a soft whicker, the stallion eyed as one mare looked up at him and his youngest child came running at the sound. Neither of them would take the swim, but the stallion knew his family would be okay. Giving a soft nuzzle of his nose to his child's cheek, Enigma gave a parting sound that was close to a choked sob. He was not crying, but he had heavy emotion for what he was setting forth to do and it was time to leave his family to where they were growing. He had sired a few foals in the past few years, but none of them except this one were still here. He knew one of his darker children was out there having followed Siren and it was time to go find his wayward Lucifer.

Spending that time with his family, Enigma let out a soft breath before his large body faced the ocean once more. Flicking his long tail before stepping into the waves, the stallion pushed away everything that wanted to hold him back. He could easily stay here with his herd, but it was time for him to leave. Blinking his dark blue eyes, the black and white stallion let a smile curl his lips before he slipped off and began to swim once more, this time hoping to find wherever his son and maybe his child's mother lived. He owed it to them, but he held no idea what he would come across in the future.

Days melded into weeks and when a strong hoof found purchase on the sands below the sea, Enigma heaved a breath as his large body practically pulled itself out of the ocean. Snow fell in flurries around his head and he found himself far from impressed. Shaking his thick neck and tucking his ears, Enigma looked about himself with his tail lashing at his hocks. Cold ocean water cascaded from his body and made wet slapping sounds on the ground. The snow barely helped any of it hit the ground without the smacking sound, but he pushed it all away and set his sights on what was before him.

Not knowing where he was, Enigma huffed out a billowing cloud of air, his eyes closing before his wet and shivering body headed farther inland. He was in an open space of land with no trees, but he was not uneasy with that fact. He could scent horses from all sorts of different places here and his head tilted with curiosity. He wanted to know more, but he stopped dead in his tracks as his head lifted and the scent of his son infiltrated his nostrils. Enigma needed to find Lucifer, but as the snow continued to pelt down against his back in faster waves, he shifted to a lone tree and hunkered down under the pine branches. Enigma would move in time, but right now with a blizzard practically trying to eat him, the draft stallion just stayed hunkered down and waited.
