Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

It made sense the small, pale girl became akin to a ghost as much as she could. After her arrival and the brutal treatment she received from the stallion who these men chose to lead them, Charmeine knew every horse here aside from Hiyori and her daughter were an enemy to her. They were all to be feared; they were all capable of treating her the same way their boss had.

Thus, Charmeine did what she could to avoid the constant moving bodies poking and prodding through the swamps. Where she could, she stuck nearest Hiyori, seeing the mare as some sort of semblance of protection and a gentility that reminded her of her mother - because Hiyori had been the one to find her, to tend to her, and to apologize to her for the treatment she’d received.

By now most her wounds had healed to scabs and yellow to yellow-brown bruises that’d lost their reds, purples, and greens, but the signs of her suffered abuse were plenty and she was so pale as was, they all stood out garishly. The only thing she hadn’t had enough time to show, yet, was the swell of her sides - the child growing in her womb was too little to be physically known to exist just yet…

But Charmeine felt the difference in her body. She knew.

The sound of hooves splashing over the low waters, accompanied by a masculine hum, set her on edge almost immediately. Like a frightened doe her head shot up, ears swinging forward and eyes widening - whites flashing - as did her nostrils, greedily sucking in what of the air around them they could. (It almost made her choke here, compared to what great, big breaths of Tinuvel air had always felt to take.)

Charmeine’s weight leaned away from the direction the greying bachelor walked - she did not know him, but she could pick out who was a bachelor here quickly enough to know. He was dangerous, they all were. She shivered, but snapped her pale white tail with a few quick, dramatic snaps and stomped her hoof, warning him to stay away from her - though fear was so clear across her body and in how she visibly trembled.
