Staring at the sun with his tail slowly swishing against his hocks, the stallion watched the sun with his ears slowly falling down. Khar’pern was here and what she first said was not a shock as he did know, he knew more than he needed. That was why his head turns, his blue eyes latching onto the once was Prime Minister with a hard look. They were devoid of anything happy or light, but they were far from sad. A darkness swirled in their depths, speaking of pain both past and present. He was no longer the mopey zoo lion he once was and he earned it the hard way. Watching Gitch leave with Garmr and then Cholena leaving for her sister… it left something shattered, but far from brittle and damaged into irreparable pieces.
“That is why I am here, Khar’pern. I know you wont stay down for very long with that hag up and running the place.” Anger and resentment bit into his voice, but the reason for it was all Snapdragon’s story to tell. Shaking his head, the brute turned away once more with his body stiffening, not ready to delve too far into everything just yet. He knew he needed to do so, but he was alone, his home was a wreck, and he was two inches from diving off of the deep end and losing everything. He would go to war, like Aase had insinuated before, but now was not the time. He needed help and what better help than one he had faced before with his own hooves? What better of a trail to take than one he had once walked before and knew almost all the endings it could give him?
Heaving a breath to try and level himself out, Nahawi lets the air ruffle his mane before he shifts entirely, facing Khar’pern dead one with his eyes even darker than before.
“Garmr stole my daughter Khar’pern. We can make a deal, a trade, whatever you see fit to save her from that bog.” spittle tempted to leave his lips from the force his tone took, his teeth baring to show just how enraged he was deep below the surface.
“I will do anything to get Gitch Mantiou back from that monster, be it I leave the Shore and try to take the Lagoon over again, or make a bargain with the woman who I have been up against before. The choice is yours, but I have much more knowledge than before and NOTHING will stop me from getting my daughter back.”
