Sea Glass

She couldn't take it. Her eyes stared upon he mothers limp body, the changes of the Badlands, and everything in between. Her pale eyes held tears and pain gripped her chest, but nothing hurt more than watching her father just… vanish. Raegar, her father, was someone she looked up to. He saved her mother, treated them to something that she never should have had from her mothers story of their first meeting. Sea Glass never expected this day to come, but the grey filly turned young mare could not save herself from the anguish that coated her tongue. It tasted like ash and blood, something she never thought would cross her delicate tongue.
Throwing herself into the sea, the young mare felt the cold depths curl around her body and send her straight into a shivering fit. Gasping as she was drug under, Sea Glass felt herself suck in a lungful breath of water. Gagging when she came to the surface again with panic in her eyes, the small mare kicked her legs as powerfully as she could. She did not want to drown and with the chance seeming to be high now, Sea Glass pushed off harder and harder until she landed on the crossing island.
Coughing up a lungful of water and then some, Sea Glass stumbles her way across the island for a while. Her hooves stumble and slip on the ground, but she never once fell down. Shaking her head after a while of aimlessly walking and practically choking up fish, Sea Glass stops her forward movements with an earth shattering reality. “Oh… Oh shoot.” She stumbles, her voice wavering as the scent of where she stands infiltrates her nostrils. “I am in the commons… aint I?”
