They hadn't exchanged pleasantries because he was too busy breaking down her barrier. She was a mother so it was expected, but it was hard to talk normally to someone that was too busy guarding something. So when she asked for his name he saw it as a good sign. Progress. She took a deep breath and then offered her own name along with her son's. A smile over took his features.

"Nice to meet you both," He said as he nodded his head then glanced to the colt. His eyes returned to her before introducing himself. "My name is Nicodemus de Solomon. Just call me Nico." A mouthful of a name as usual, but he couldn't forget his heritage. Silence falls between them until Raini speaks up again. This time she asks what would be required of them if they joined him. Nico shook his head.

"Miss Raini I didn't mean you had to join me now," He smiles. "Yes, I am looking for new members for my herd, but I just meant I could lead you both to another part of this island away from the commons. That way no one can claim the two of you while you are resting or deciding where you want to go next." He had planned to lead them to the meadow for a rest. If they made it all the way to these islands it was doubtful that could make it to Tinuvel on what energy they had left.

"Besides I try to give everyone that comes to my home an offer. Give me some time to get to know you and if you like me stay. If you find you dont, well, then you can leave at any time. I would like to build a home on love and not captives." It was a hard concept in this age. Some mare's wanted a stallion that acted tough and roughed then up a bit. Or just acted tough. Nico had some fighting skills, but he wasn't a violent individual. He was more soft, kind, and a thinker. He thinks some of that comes from all the stories his mother has told of her youth and how she came to be the broken mare she was today.
