I think that the key consideration wrt speed is how fast is the ball moving as it enters your "sphere of influence", so to speak.

Like this thing, if it was far enough away from you, it wouldn't matter that it broke the sound barrier initially.

So a good comparison might be the baseball as it crosses the plate vs the pelota as it approaches the frontcourter.

For jai-alai doubles, it might be interesting to see the approx percentage of balls caught by the front directly, vs backcourt and front rebo. And maybe how often does the front have a possible play but decides it's too hot to handle.

Also, would like to use frame-by-frame video analysis to compare front catches MC vs Dania. Are they about the same?
