Re(2): Bixente? Wow Posted on February 1, 2025 at 11:12:30 AM by patrickm
I'd like to add my best wishes for Bixente to fully recover and be able to play fully healthy next season. Happened to see the injury occur live on youtube and even to a casual observer, it looked very serious. My wow is for Benny for what in the world was he doing trotting him out there 2 days after the injury only to be a literal post time scratch before his first game Fri. He had no business being out there and should have been an indefinite scratch until cleared by a doctor. I heard Benny between games later on saying he thought it would be a least 7 to 10 days..then on Friday saying the trainer was working on him and in his words doing the voodoo that they do. Who is running player medical over there Dr Mobogo? No telling how badly he could have been injured playing on what turned out to be a broken leg. If nothing else, it certainly could have ruined the partido because Victor was at a distinct disadvantage having to play 7 games prior to the partido and everyone else played 3. It was remarkable Victor played so terrific and his team actually ran 10 straight points and made it a runaway. There was bad decision making that went on that week ( not even bringing the cancelled performance fiasco on game point of game 1. They were well aware of wiring issues 2 days before yet forged ahead when it should have been postponed... but thats another issue. I applaud Bennys hard work and effort keeping traditional jai alai alive, competitive and exciting. But common sense has to prevail on player health and echoing Stray, decisions and info on scratches has to be better. Replies:
