GUIDELINES
common sense, really
i. the Prairie stands as a symbol of peace and prosperity among the islands
ii. anyone is welcome to live here so long as they do not bring harm to the Prairie or any of it's residents
iii. adventure and exploration is not only allowed, but encouraged! residents are asked to use their better judgement and not travel to places that could bring them harm
iv. the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
v. the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors
whispers in the tall grass

Lir had indeed been close enough to see the golden figure of a mare arrive and then pause at the southern borders where the Prairie met the Forest and a sliver of the Thicket. She was vaguely familiar to him, the palomino, whereas the two figures who emerged from the Forest's treeline were not. His sable ears twisted to either side, betraying his uncertainty from the sprawl of heatherdown of his vantage point. Even as one of the Forest pair loosed a call for him, he was making a quick approach. It seemed odd to him that so many would appear at once on his borders. Coincidence. Fate? They would soon find out.

The sound of a snort shot through pale nostrils as the overo neared the trio. Eyes roved from one face to the next. He did know the palomino as he had suspected. They had only met once previously; Lir didn't delve deep enough into his memory to remember the exact nature of their introduction. "Zira.. it's been a long time," he offered with a polite dip of his head to the Savanna lead. The dunskin had nearly forgotten about her with all that had happened in the Prairie since they'd met nearly two years prior.

His hazel eyes turn to the other two. A dark grey mare stood tall next to a black-painted male. These were the two that had come from the Forest. The brown length of his tail swished, whispering over the dun-barred skin of the stallion's hocks. In a more guarded manner, Lir acknowledges them with a curt dip of his head. "I am Lir," he tells them. "I now lead the Prairie in Zevulun and Castillon's stead." This is a clarifier, in case they had indeed expected the older cream male to greet them instead.

"What, pray tell, brings you all to the Prairie?"

Lir
