“Daughter?” A soft voice calls. The tone is warbled, broken. The creature it comes from is small and grey. Her long mane touches her lower shoulder. The find grey strands shake as her body trembles, creating its own trembling motion as if she couldn't hold still. Eyes as clear and bright as a blue sky hold moisture. Tears trek down her cheeks, curling through her soft colored coat and barely managing to break free and hit the ground.
Everyone was gone, Evangaline could feel it. Her small body with a big heart shook as she stared out over the Badlands with a deep sense of loneliness. Her long grey tail twitches in a way that makes her turn to face it. Looking over her shoulder, the petite mare watches as a sage brush rolls on by after briefly being tucked and tangled in her fine hair. Blinking her pale eyes at the bush, she swallows the sound on her tongue and turns away from the place she had been rescued into.
Lifting her hooves and covering the ground in a broken trot, Evangaline closes her eyes periodically as she goes. Shoving the tears away and shaking her head, the mare just goes. Raegar and Glass were gone, leaving her with two open wounds in her chest. She couldn't say she was in love with the Badlands stallion, but she did know she had been safe. He saved her life and brought her to the gorgeous desert based island. He should be here, but just like everything else in life the story had to come to a close.
Crossing the Badlands border and into the Dunes, Evangaline sucked in a breath. This border hadn't changed hands, the territory smelling the same as when she arrived. Licking her pale lips with that knowledge, Evangaline moved further into the neighbor of her home. Her ears tucked tight to her head as she found herself tucked in a set of dunes. Looking around the loose sands and finding a spot of shade, the tiny mare curls herself into the darker sands and rests her head upon her knees. Closing her eyes with a hiccuping cry, the mare tries to fall asleep.
