Life as a loner had grown...boring. It had grown stale like a plucked flower, left to wither and die without it's connection to something else. Somehow, Freki had found herself feeling very much like a plucked flower. (An angry, sharp little flower.) She had not been one to form attachments, neither had her mother. She supposed the closest attachment Phoenix had made was with Freki's father, but that seemed seasonal and not driven by anything outside hormones. Freki herself had not felt much sadness at the death of her mother, her father, or her brother if she was being honest. They'd been divided enough from one another that her life had not changed much. She never felt the desire to run and tell her sibling something, or yearn to curl up next to her mother when she was sad. None of them had been close. That's just how it had been.

She was hard to miss as she walked through the commons, ears pinned, tail flagged, and a snarl on her wrinkled on her muzzle. She was fire incarnate, each swish of her ember tail threatening to burn the entirety of the Commons down to nothing but ash. She wondered if anyone would be brave (or foolish) enough to approach her. She did not suffer fools, and though she had already decided she would be going home with someone, she did not aim for the weak.

She halted and pawed at the earth before whinnying. Everyone would know she was here, even if they didn't care. She might have been small, but Freki would not let such a thing stop her from being exactly who she was always meant to be. Her father had his beast, her brother had his. And she had a hearth-warmed monster of her own.
