I have the same level of disgust.
And I'm sure this is a case of the bad driving out the good. With 100 - 200 viewers, there may be many who would participate if not for the chat being monopolized by the same few disrespectful dullards.
Personally, I have to close the chat at least half the time, because I just don't want the sleazy, repetitive, and witless thoughts of those jerks getting into my consciousness. But then there are some decent folks like Rastocky, Rokinray (sp?), Jason and others. Not to mention that Benny might pop in.
Anyway, we're probably just a few years from the point where real-time AI chat monitors will be ubiquitous. As in, "Hey Bozo, you've already posted the same thing 100 times before. That's 30 minutes in the penalty box for you. Bye." Where "penalty box" is an alternative chat populated by the "Dania sucks" group.
Aside from that, I appreciate your perspective on the human elements involved. It's so easy for people sitting on their butts at home to think that every point of every game has to be at maximum overdrive. As I posted before, even inanimate objects like ChatGPT and DeepSeek, who have never seen a jai-alai game, understand that if you go all out in a double header, you are likely to have some negative physical consequences the next day.
As a speculative hypothetical case, at Magic City, I think I remember Stu and Andrew referring to Ikeda as "The Barrista". Which opens up the topic of caffeine as a PED. So what if somebody Redbulls their way through a double performance and the next day decides to cut their bod a break and go natural? Is that cheating? Seriously, there are many human factors that a moronically simple WPS stats-based system simply cannot begin to address. I'll take a Sensei-style judgement-based system over that every time.
Finally, owing to an insane and seemingly never-ending obsession with making my jai-alai theory better and better and better, and my capacity to create code, even in assembly language, as needed, to do whatever it is I desire, I probably have the best jai-alai-specific analytical tools on the planet. (not that big of a boast, given the handful of competitors) And I don't have any problem with the Dania play. Other than the serve issues, of course.
