IZUMI
There was no scoff or sneer at her blunder, only a gentle smile as he turned his head to look back at her. Izumi doesn’t know if that gentleness is more frightening than a mocking look or not. But he is inviting, and even as he looks over, taking in her changes, Izumi slowly walks over to join him.
The closer she gets to the stallion, the more her skin feels as if it’s too tight. Tension coiled every muscle, and she is sure that it causes her to walk strangely and stand at an odd stance next to him. By now, she has regretted every decision she has made leading up to this point. She should have gone the opposite way when she’d scented him in the jungle. She should have turned around when she spotted him from the tree line instead of speakign up. She should have….
Wow, the sunset really was pretty.
Izumi tried to let out a relaxing breath. To force her shoulders to loosen some. There was nothing sinister about this. He hadn’t tracked her down or bothered her since she had been left here. He had left her alone and only spoken to her when she finally braved to speak to him. This was not the Lagoon.
“Is it always like this?” Izumi asked, briefly turning her pale green eyes from the wash of vivid colors across the sky to glance at the stallion. Although her question could easily mean the sunset, it could also mean the way they lived here, or the openness that he had invited her to his company. It was up to Annubis to decide what she had meant, and how he wanted to answer.
