Biscayne Cup question for Benny

Benny, looking forward to the Biscayne Cup.

The other night Dave LaMont briefly described the format. I may have misunderstood him, but what I thought I heard him say was the following.

Let’s say the 4 teams are A,B,C,D. It sounded like Dave was saying that on Thursday 2/20, there would be 2 partidos played - games 10 and 11. And that BOTH those partidos would be Team A vs Team B. And if one team wins both partidos they advance to the finals. If they split the partidos there would be a 5 point tiebreaker, to determine the winner that advances to the finals. And then on Friday 2/21, same thing but it’s teams C and D playing two partidos to see who advances, tiebreaker if needed.

Is this correct? And if so, wouldn’t that mean that the winner of A vs B on Thursday gets a full day’s break from partido action, while the winner of C vs D has to play 4 partidos between Friday night and Saturday afternoon, with no break like their opponent in the finals gets?

Or do I have this wrong? Is the format that on Thursday night we have game 10 as A vs B, and game 11 as C vs D? And then same thing on Friday, where the finalists will be determined after each plays their second partidos - with tiebreakers Friday night if needed?

To me, that format would make more sense and make sure that one team didn’t have any type of an “edge” with a break before the finals that the other team didn’t get.

Either way, thanks for bringing us this event and also the entire 2024-25 Dania Invitational!
