The mismarked Appaloosa didn't see the look of recognition in the amber mare's eyes when it happened. He was preoccupied with the chimeric stallion before him. The curious thing in him wanted to marvel at the way the black spread over the other male, but the grown stallion in him knew better. Alioth could see the irritation in the way the other man stiffened and lashed his tail, could see and had expected it. 'So, when you’re not out chasing mares, you associate with murderers and thieves?'

Alioth blinked at the accusation. His features flattened as any former amusement dissipated. He didn't know any murderers, to his knowledge. He knew the stallion Lucifer who had lived on their shores once and was glad when he'd left. Thievery, on the other hand, was a charge he hadn't expected to have leveled against him. Sigurdr was a herd stallion from what he could tell; who was he to look down his nose as though he were any better than a Lagoon brute?

"Such acts are committed by individuals unless the boss says otherwise," states the spotted stallion cooly. "As such, I don't answer for deeds that aren't my own." Hardened, his brown eyes glance toward the amber mare, but they do not land on her before Alioth has refocused on the grullo stallion. A snort of distaste rushes through his nostrils, and a feigned chuff of laughter makes it through the young male's teeth. "You're telling me the mighty Sigurdr has never tried to steal a mare before?"

Alioth
