Re(4): World Jai-Alai League considers leaving Florida Posted on February 26, 2025 at 08:59:39 PM by CTCestapunta
Does seem like a slow decline; I mean, playing on the 3 slowest days of the week makes sense; the list of tracks on MyWinners app Mon, tue, & wed are the smallest list of B and C grade "where the heck is this place again?" nag farms.
Although I know BC will never be in CT, (the casino's own the State, they already had the power to cancel East Windsor Casino project & passed on taking over Milford jaialai even with a 7yr tax abatement & $250k business grant).
Fun to dream though....Can you imagine how THAT players meeting would go? Scott standing up and starting off with "Hey everybody!! Guess what? We're outta here!!! After our next 12 week, 30 performance "season", it's off to see the wizard in CONNECTICUT.
You'll love it...with your $30k and reduced opportunities for prize money with the fewer performances, 4 or 5 of you rooming together should have no problem finding a 1 or two bedroom/1 bath condo (as long as one meal a day is good enough & you like mass transit); oh and that State Income Tax thing, nnnoooo problem guys you won't even notice it missing. Your wives and girlfriends will have no problem finding jobs--every Wendy's McDonalds, & Burger King is hiring and it's $16.35 an hour!!! Thats more money than most of you will be making so at least you'll have pay parity; besides with the fewer performances and less games you'll all have more than enough time for 2nd & 3rd jobs.
But the best part is the WEATHER. You get to see snow, and ice, and frigid cold-shoveling snow is great for those arms, and slipping/skidding on ice helps build balance; but isn't that a even trade-off to get away from having to endure those boring work outs?.
So let the significant others know the best is yet to come. Stu, your Mental Health experience is definitely needed up there; Andrew? well, I'm sure we can find you something--all the grocery stores are hiring.
I understand a majority of you from overseas will probably be leaving us & that will create a gap in the roster, but hey Connecticut has a whole crew of weekend warrior pelotari's just ready to jump on board--heck people won't even notice any reduction in quality of play--Juice & El Barba will do well in the feature games.
Excited yet?? So go out there next week, give it 110%, and to quote our hit movie "lets get ready to play JAI_ALAI!!!
