Wounds of old and new oozed with a yellow substance that hinted at infection. Golden eyes blazed with a bright fire that started in ones stomach as large dark hooves hit the ground as a wind breaking run. Dark tipped ears tucked tight to the poll of a draft cross mare as the sound of something running behind them filled the air with breaking brush and the snapping of tree branches. Muscled hind quarters pushed with each charging step forward, but a lazy smirk lined the crosses lips before hooves took an abrupt stop in the sands of the beach. Hind legs twisted as they slid, aiming for a quick spin as the horses ankles were now hidden under quickly piling sand. Light danced in golden orbs as Baba Yaga opened her jaws to bare blunted teeth at the black and white stallion that was chasing her through the Forest in a game of tag that was usually more painful than the standard one foals played.
Kicking out with a front hoof, Baba Yaga landed a smacking touch to Crown Royal’s body before she hit the ground with her teeth snapping together. She had won this time around. With her body on the beach before Royal could tag her, the Forest lead got to head to the commons once again to search for potential herd members. They needed to grow their herds but with Royal trying his hardest already to just survive the taunting she gave him, the mare knew it wouldn't be much longer before he took over the trips to the commons. Tossing her head with a snort of laughter, the mare pawed the sands before she turned back to the sea and dove into the crisp blue waters.
Rising upon the beach of the crossing, Yaga looked around herself. Her body quivered in places, shaking some of the ocean water from her cuts that had needed the salty dip. They still oozed in places, but she could already feel some of the work being done as her head shook from side to side before her whole body followed in a shuddering motion. Sucking in a deep lungful of air, the draft lifted her head to look at the sky before letting out a snort that coated the ground in front of her with snotty ocean water. It was not lady-like or classy, but the daughter of Siren did not have a single ounce of care in her blood. Licking her lips, she shrugged her shoulders and started forward at a steady pace.
It did not take long for the grey mare to reach the commons. Her ears flicked upon her head as she drug in the sights before her and the sounds. Her nostrils were still water logged and all she could scent was salt, but she relied on her other senses. She took everything in before walking the edges, taking her sweet time until she spotted something laying upon the beach. Tilting her head to the side, the brute sized mare huffed out a breath before rolling her eyes. She took her time with her forward movements, her head tilting slowly to the side until she took in everything she could see of the spotted mare. Licking her lips with her head tilting to the other side, Yaga reached one leg forward to paw at the wet ground near the fallen equine's head.
“Get up. No point in cougar bait.”
