Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

I am the snowstorm that freezes your heart.

The black splash marked stallion had been wandering back into the Lagoon, the heat of the day making him tired so he was thankful for the tree cover. He could never understand how the lagoon stayed so wet even in the driest season. Still he hadn't been here more than a few months really so maybe it did change withthe seasons, he couldn't imagine it getting much worse to be honest so hopefully it didnt end up flooded in the bleak of winter, he'd have to wait and see.

His mind wandered to his sister, he had seen her recently and she seemed well, seemed reasonably settled in the herd she was living with, it didn't stop him worrying about her thought, she was his blood after all.

Catching movement of to the side he swung his head, blue eyes catching on a familiar figure. He watched her attempt to navigate the sucking mud, or rather the misstep into it, attempting to keep the foal from following her. Most of the mares were keeping to the denser part of the forest he'd noticed, where the footing was easier for the young and the trees offered more protection to both themselves and their foals. He could see the logic, especially during this time of the year when the boys got more rowdy, full of testosterone and more interested in the mares. Although none would intentionally put any foal from a lagoon stallion at risk, especially one sired by the ex marauder but accidents could happen.

His eyes scanned the mare as much as he could in the darkness, but it was enough to notice how thin she looked and how exhausted she seemed. She was jumpy, worried, stressed out and clearly hadn't been eating enough to support both herself and her foal. He knew most mares lost weight with feeding a foal, so much of her energy going into producing milk that would keep her babe healthy and looking well, but he thought perhaps she had lost a bit too much, most likely due to her flighty nature.

With a sigh and quick thought that he probably shouldn't get involved he moved towards her, at her nervous words he scanned his memory, trying to remember her name. He stopped a respectable distance from her and the child, but close enough that she would hopefully recognise him Lavender isn't it? he was pretty sure that was correct. We've met before, you've no reason to fear me he said quietly with a quick glance around he continued it's rare to find those with young so out in the open his words held no judgement are you OK? He wasn't sure why he felt a sliver of concern for the mare, not out of interest of lust or love, no it felt slightly similar to concern he held for his sister, which was an odd thought for him as he had only ever cared about one other in his entire life... Ice, his twin.
Pushing the thoughts to the back of his mind to examine later, his gaze stayed on the mare, await her reply. If she told him to sod off he would comply, with the colts father currently being held in the peak she really didn't have many choices if she required help.
