Blood in the water

The 2 mares wandered down the beach, having come up onto the island further down. The bay was holding onto her companions tail. The claw marks down the side of the bay mares shoulder causing her to limp, the blood still fresh having not been able to close in the water. I need to stop the bay said around a mouthful of tail. Her friend, still getting use to having to accommodate her friends blindness nodded and stopped, only for the bay to walk straight into her rump.

Wincing she looks back sorry Addison, I keep forgetting she said glumly, the action clearly something she’d done a lot of times so far. I know, its ok. I need to rest though she says, pain in her voice. Remi nods again, force of habit, before adding in an ok waiting for the mare to grab a handful of tail again before leading her into forest, finding somewhere sheltered she tries to find somewhere surrounded by trees close together.

This should do for now Remi says. The floors clean at least if you want to sleep she says turning to the mare who had now released her tail. She frown when she looked at her shoulder that’s not healing she says gently.
The mare smiles it will, it just hasn’t because of the water Addison say before slowly lowering herself to the floor, clearly still uncomfortable with the wound, after shifting position a few times the only comfortable position she could find right now.

Remi stays next to her, keeping watch. Her ears swivelling in all directions before her eyes follow. A few hours later she heard her friend moving Addison are you ok? she asks looking a bit worried. The bay mare chuckles I’m fine, I just need to get up now she says ending on a groan as she pulls herself up with some difficulty due to her shoulder. Remi trying to help soon realised she was just in way, stepping back she could only watched as the bay mare struggled to her feet but eventually managed to. Her eye glance over the wounds on her shoulder I think the bleeding has stopped at least.

Good, I told you it would she said gently. You know, I don’t think ever known you to be as serious as you have been lately, must be a sign your maturing she chuckled. She was trying to make the youngster laugh or at least smile, she knew the worry she felt, could hear it in her voice.
Remi laughs well don’t get use to it she says with a smile. Glad she’d make the youngster laugh, even if it was only temporarily I wouldn’t dream of getting use to it she says. Now, where… she cuts off, shushing Remi when she went to comment.

Who’s there? she said having heard someone moving about close to them. Show yourself? Yer the irony of that comment was lost on her.
