The black splash stallion had wandered to the falls, looking to cool off from the midday heat that sweltered the lagoon. Honestly how could a place that was so boggy and swamp like still be so wet in the summer.
Stepping in the water he allowed the spray from the waterfall to cool him. He felt like his life had stalled lately. Ice seemed settled where she was but he just felt restless. The need to do something was riding him hard, but as for what that something was he wasn’t sure.
Lowering his head to drink from the cool water for a few moments before he wandered back onto dry land. His white legs becoming visible again, and a bit more cleaner. They were a contrast against the midnight black of the rest of him, dipped in paint was a term he’d heard often from other, it made him chuckle, it was pretty fitting description to be fair, although it did make trying to hide his presence in the shadows of the lagoon nearly impossible when his legs gave him away. Still wasn’t much he could do about that.
Dropping his head to graze on some grass nearby, this was another reason he tended to travel out of the lagoon, there wasn’t nearly enough to forage to fill ones belly and since the captives couldn’t leave to find food and several of those captives had foals to feed as well he figured leaving them what sparse picking there was would at least help the young grow strong. So he didn’t mind his trips out to find enough to satisfy his hunger.
Pausing in eating he felt eyes on him. Lifting his head he didn’t turn to face the unknown equine, he didn’t need to see the other horse to keep track of there movements, his swivelling ears were doing that job.
With an unphased sigh he asked can I help you with something? he said before lowering his head to graze, his action of one who was unbothered even thought the set of his jaw would tell otherwise.
