I wouldn't mind him advancing cold fusion a little bit. For a while, I was checking in on "LENR news" about once per week.

Got old very quickly, and even now there seems very little of interest.

But fusion and / or transmutation will always be a fascinating and tantalizing prospect.

Eg: gold is denser than lead and even slightly more than depleted uranium. Can you imagine an x-ray technician with a gold protective apron? Or using gold for armor piercing projectiles?

Of course, this is insanely off-topic, but thinking about transmutation and nanotech does lead to the following AI question:

"Could there be a better material than granite for the front wall in jai-alai?"
